A rich, oil-based balm created to moisturise, protect and comfort dry, itchy, flaky and troublesome skin.

Handmade by The Bee Fairy in the Teme Valley, our Healing Anti-Itch Balm combines beeswax, shea butter and nourishing plant oils with a carefully selected aromatic blend of lavender, lemongrass, eucalyptus and tea tree essential oils.

Unlike a water-based cream, our balm contains no added water. Instead, it combines plant oils and butters that act as emollients, helping to soften and condition the outer layers of dry skin, with beeswax that forms a light protective layer and helps reduce moisture loss.

The result is a concentrated balm that leaves dry and uncomfortable skin feeling soft, conditioned, moisturised and protected.

There are good cosmetic reasons why an oil-rich balm can feel particularly comforting on troublesome skin. Beeswax helps protect the skin and reduce moisture loss, while shea butter and our botanical oils act as emollients, spreading into the outer layers of the skin to soften and condition it and replenish oils that dry skin can lack.

🌿 Key Ingredients

Beeswax (Cera Alba) — forms a light protective layer over the skin, helping reduce moisture loss and supporting the skin’s natural moisture barrier.

Shea Butter — a rich emollient that helps soften, condition and moisturise dry and flaky skin.

Coconut Oil — moisturises and conditions while helping the balm spread smoothly across the skin.

Sweet Almond Oil — a lightweight emollient that helps soften and condition dry skin.

Calendula Oil — traditionally valued in herbal skincare preparations, particularly for dry and delicate skin.

Lavender Essential Oil — provides a gentle aromatic character and has a long history of traditional use in skincare.

Lemongrass Essential Oil — provides a distinctive fresh citrus aroma and has a history of traditional aromatic use.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil — included for its fresh, clean aromatic character.

Tea Tree Essential Oil — has a particularly long history of traditional use in preparations for troublesome skin.

🌿 Inspired by Traditional Herbal Knowledge

Plants, herbs and natural oils have been used for generations in traditional preparations for the skin.

Calendula has traditionally been associated with soothing skin preparations, while lavender has been valued in both skincare and aromatic traditions. Tea tree has a particularly well-known history of traditional use in preparations for troublesome skin.

This traditional knowledge helped influence our choice of ingredients when developing the Healing Anti-Itch Balm. We then combine them with the cosmetic benefits of beeswax, shea butter and botanical oils to create a rich, water-free balm for dry and uncomfortable skin.

We share this traditional herbal knowledge so that you can understand why we have chosen particular ingredients and make your own informed choices.

👐 How to Apply

Warm a small amount between clean fingertips and gently massage into areas of dry, itchy, flaky or uncomfortable skin.

A little goes a long way because this is a concentrated, water-free balm. Apply sparingly and reapply as required as part of your normal skincare routine.

For external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes and other sensitive areas. Do not apply to seriously damaged or infected skin. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Supplied in a stylish 50g bamboo pot with an inner container. The bamboo outer pot can be returned to us for reuse where appropriate or repurposed as a useful little storage container.
